Wow I cleaned the fret board with a razor blade to smooth, cleaned it up , adjusted the action, tremolo, and inotation and It plays sweet. I havent hardly touched my L.P. since ive got this one! lol. Im loving it. from what I understand most of the tremolo's on cheaper strats and copys have wimpy trems blocks on them . I have to say this one is freakin huge! very heavy. What is a good treatment to put on the neck (fretboard)?

I use a very small amount of boiled linseed oil - I start at the nut and by the time I get to the bridge end I go back and wipe it off. If the neck is really dried out, I'll do that every couple days for about a week. I think it does make a difference.

I use stuff called Lizardspit which is very good, but also have lemon oil on hand; as long as the wood is oiled, I think the oil is a matter of personal preference.

If you like the sound it has now, why change? And unless it's humming really badly, then sheilding the pup cavities probably won't help; checking the solder joints and earth wiring may yield more profitable results.....

yeah corsair I do like the sound a lot just seems noisy. my granddaughter was crying and it was coming through the pups and amp really weird. Is that normal? I really don't have a lot of experience as I'm a beginner. If I change them I was planning on keeping the originals. hmmmmmn wonder if I could fix them? There's a ground wire off that goes to the spring bracket for the trem, could this cause the noise.
