Ha, not sure if he realizes he only posted one picture, cause he refers to 'pictures' in the listing. Overdrive module doesn't work.

there's a link to all the pictures in the ended listing :)

now my remaining mpc stuff I have won't be lonely... :)

Ahh, must've scanned right over the link. Congrats on the purchase! It looked like a great deal to me.

Sick score, Mick! Good for you.

I picked up a Genesis I from that same seller last year. His handle over at Westone is Sundog and he had posted this one there as a link. Happy to see it stayed in the family.

this arrived about an hour and a half AFTER I left for Efest '12... missed it by -><- that much...
it's got some really nice grain, and one of the best sounding Dynamic Fuzz's I've had...

the POD might have a solder joint that needs hit. I could see one that was questionable, but since it's a wax potted one in the box, I can melt the wax off and replace whatever's bad.

and wow, that's a nice smooth neck joint.... and I do like the smaller MPC switches....

Sweet ! Wish it had made it to the fest.

woohoo! POD is working. the joints I saw earlier seemed okay, so I pulled all of the wax out and after doing so and wiggling the componets a bit found 2 bad solder joints. re-did them, and it's a working module again.

I did test out all the resistors and the caps first, and they all tested out good. I was getting ready to test the transistor (final component) and I spotted a bad joint on it, then I found one more on one of the caps.

I dug my 2 other modules out of the parts boxes, and they are the same. POD and Fuzz, and both work too! the POD is one of the epoxy block ones, and the fuzz is a potted box style... the fuzz was dead before, but I had fixed it a few months back. bad solder joints on that one too...

I messed around with having 2 fuzz's in, and well, ... it's very fuzzy :)

it's a 1980 build date on the headstock, but Rene Lopez signed it for set-up in November of '82.

Is the epoxy POD a sort of tan/gray block? I have an unmarked one and I can't decide if it's a POD or DFuzz. You're giving me some inspiration to try and repair a dead phase shifter and an intermittent auto wah.

Hats off to you on CRAZY GOOD SCORE! That's a GREAT price for an Ultima even if it was in crummy condition - and yours looks far from crummy. Well done!!

Yes the POD is gray. The POD should have been calleded a SB (Slight Boost) :) . It should just be a clean 30% vol increase. Not much overdriven. The fuzz definitely adds distortion though.
