Hey all,picked up a burgundy pro a while back-apparently didn't pay attention closely,think it has some replacement pickups. I could have sworn the stock pickups had braided conductors,though I'm not sure what was OEM-thought they were suppose to be MMK61's if memory serves. Here's a pic of the underside of the bridge pickup

What do you guys think? Sucks because I've lost the guys number and address,but trusted him-don't think he knew,played in a worship band and had taken it in for a pot replacement,said it just didn't seem the same afterwards-who knows?

Jeez! Didn't realize how big the pic was-sorry. Any ideas? Just don't know-wave headstock,no serial # I can find,maybe late run?

Screw pattern sure mimics a '61 by comparison to the one in my hand that I bought from you Joe...

I am very sorry to hear of this misfortune that has befallen you. If it becomes more than you can bear fear not... one pm and I will volunteer (bravely and selflessly I might add) to relieve you of that mongrel for $300..

Is the cover soldered on there or is it just some sort of acrylic hardener I am seeing? Any chance of getting a resistance reading on them? Cloth taped around the coil winds or?...

The covers are soldered on,almost impossible to get a reading on them while still in-the ink stamping by the foot in the picture is not like any MMK I've seen-

the Burgundy pro was one of the first semis, before the wide use of the MMK stamped pickups...

do you have a "dateable" s/n?

I have too many projects!

No serial on headstock or in F hole,wave headstock,snowflake position markers,stoptail,etc. but no serial number found

Joe, I reviewed the 70+ photos I took of my PumpkinPro when it came in, and apparently I did not loosen the strings and pull the pickups at that time. If I get a free hour this weekend, I'll document those for you. I can't say for certain they are stock, but I'm pretty sure they are. Mike.

OK, I couldn't keep you hanging until the weekend, so here they are, firstly a top shot so you can compare the covers and corner curvature:



Here is a shot of both of them out, you can see the long neck tenon with two screws and the letters "GWR" in the Bridge pickup route (Guitar Wine Red? possibly). The wiring does have some metal braid showing by the potentiometers you can see through the F hole, but the pickups have your basic plastic coating on their leads:



I turned the flash off and the Macro on for this picture, I also put my reading glasses on and I can't see any markings whatsoever on the back of these pickups:



So, I'll let you be the judge and tell me if these are the same pickups you have Joe. Cheers, Mike.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle-those look spot on! Thanks very much Mike, now on to the work at hand-it has two bad pots so I'm gonna replace all of them. If anyone's ever relpaced pots on a semihollow,you know what I'm in for-though an old tech shared a tip with me-if you use surgical tubing pushed over the pot shafts,you can pull them out and attach the surgical tubing to the new pots and pull right back into place. We'll see how it works-now where's my lab coat.....
