Welcome to the board. Here's one on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELECTRA-MPC-X34 ... 2a2447a0c7

Not a closet queen, but looks pretty respectable, and the price is reasonable for an MPC, good luck, Mike.

Welcome to the forums and thanks for the interest in Electras. I think we have all at one point or another had a past Electra that we wish we had kept. That listing does look like a nice one and the price is certainly low so might be wort a look see. I will keep an eye out and if I spot one I will PM you. Good Luck with the search :up:

Thanks to all....... I have been watching this one, only real concern I saw was the crack in the supposed clear coat on the neck. I am tructing the seller that is is only in the clear coat and doesnt open with string tension. It also is a weird direction for a crack in the wood I would think without being completely split. So I am watching and hoping to possibly pick this one up at a fair price if nothing else shows up. Jim

Unless you start out with a four inch wide neck blank (which would be a lot of wasted wood), there is going to be some kind of lamination at the heal (and headstock). This is fairly common, and I have a number of guitars with finish cracks in this area. I can't speak for this example, so you may want to contact the seller and grill him before you place a bid. My gut instinct is that its just a crack in the poly. Good Luck.

Well, I picked the one up from ebay....... Will know later this week if I wone the auction or the seller did.....lol..... Since I got it for the starting bid, seems like a fair price to take that chance. Hope all is good and I can turn it into a nice guitar. Jim

My MPC X340 arrived yesterday, not to bad of shape considering, everything seems to work, and the crack in the neck looks likes its just in the poly, so all is good. Cant wait to make a few adjustments and see how good I can get it set up. Jim

I hope that with the setup this was a good decision for you and that it is a keeper;

The X340 is a great axe; I have enjoyed mine for years and played it this past Tuesday evening.

Congratulations on your purchase -

Enjoy your new axe and welcome to the board. We hope you stick around and join in. Please tell some stories of your old Electra and also what you plan to do with your new one.

Thanks for all the comments. First a good cleaning to see what she looks like, then a good case to keep her safe, looking for a clear pickguard like original, I assume a les paul pickguard will fit but I will need to check it out. Going to hit radio shack to try and replace the broken switch, then we are good to go for awahile. I will try to post a pic.

The last bracket on the right of the pic url should be "[/img]" -

Not "[/imgimg]" -
