Hello!
I finally identified my bass as an Electra model 2271 long necker. Time to move it along and focus on my six string. I can't find any serial numbers or identifying marks, so if anyone can let me know if I am in error with any of this, I appreciate it. $200. Can't tell how to post pics, but it looks just like the one in the catalog! Real nice shape, the one with two pickups.

Could you provide a few more details on the condition. For example how is the fret wear, is the neck straight, any modifications done, does it have a block print letters/Electra script logo or peace sign logo? Does it still have the ash tray bridge cover? What city are you near (for local pickup option) etc.

Welcome to the forum I hope that your 6 string adventures include an Electra possibly?

Ha, just bumped a button and lost my whole reply...sheesh!
Very good condition overall on this bass. As the ad says, just gone thru, adjusted, intonated, new strings, etc.
Minimal fret wear, very, very slight roughness on chrome pickups. You have to get the light reflecting just right to see it, but it's there. Case is missing half of one latch but for what it is, it's in good shape otherwise. Not sure what you refer to for a bridge cover, never saw one. I'm located in western WA south of Tacoma, east of Olympia.

Sorry, no script or logos, that's why it took so long to figure out what it was. Are they so fragile that they just come off? Anyone comment on this?

the SLM Electra logos were pretty much all under the clearcoat on the basses. some of really early ones may have been painted on, but we've never seen those type of logos on basses.

what's the scale length?

send pics to thebratguy-a-t-hotmail-dot-com

thanks,
Mick

Sent photos, scale length measured from nut to where strings go thru bridge is 35" Not sure exactly where scale length is measured. I hear differing opinions, as in everything it seems! So, is not having a logo on it normal for these?

Got the pics. I'll post them up here later. Definitely appears to be the last version of the 2271 with the logo removed.
