I've got an offer in for this one :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 1097432959

It has a crack in the neck - which I can fix, but not being familar with the electra's as well as most here, I'm wondering when this bird may have been made. it looks similar to the 227x series but not one specificallt that I have seen.

And I hope somone does't out offer me me :)

the ones with "Electric Bass" on the headstock are definitely "challenging" to date/originate... The BA2 bridge is a replacement, but a really nice upgrade from the stock bridge.

poring over catalogs in the past, the only other "brands" I found with "Electric Bass" on them were all linked to Matsumoku (Aria, Univox, etc...) and all from the very early 70's as I recall... however, this one does not have the common 3 piece neck....

This particular version never appeared in any catalogs (as far as I know), and has proper J stype pickups instead of the rectangular chrome ones.

it's definitley MIJ, and looks to be the same or better construction that the final version in the catalogues....

I really liked how Randy's (Guitrials) "Electric Bass" played at last years Electra fest. Good luck with your offer.

Good review eh - but the seller did not accept my offer. I think it was fair being the neck has a crack and will need repair. But he is looking to make some cash before xmas and I'm looking not to spend much before christmas so oh well. Hopefully someone else gets it here as it seems like a worthwhile fix on the crack and can be done without sanding the face of the neck. Maybe if it is still around after the 25th, I'll meet halfway between my offer and his counter offer, but for now this one is up for grabs.
