So a local guy (Lawman Guitars) I've dealt with a lot (good guy) had these on eBay...

he also had the control plate and neck plate and screws. I made him an offer on everything so I could put it back together... I went higher than I probably should have, but it will live once again

I belive it to be a 2273 (black) one originally, but we'll see. Based on the neck features and the placement of the tuner holes, I think it was a peace sign model. can't wait to see if there's any original finish/logo left underneath....

Looks like it will clean up very nice. I would also guess there is a really nice finish under that paint. Another great electra saved from the scrap bin.

picked it up today! you can see the peace sign logo under the white paint! might be a while before I get to this one, as I want to finish up some of my other projects

well, looks like the original poly was sanded prior to painting. looks like it's been painted a couple of times, and I actually kinda like the look of the worn in white paint on the body...

The sanding of the poly prior to painting just made it a little harder to rub the paint off with acetone. I only did the headstock. cleaned up the bushings too.

took some steel wool to the "cleaned" headstock to get any remaining paint I could, and then I hit it with a coat of clear poly last night, so the headstock is original looking again. black with the peace sign logo (large peace sign on the tip version).

The body looks like it had plenty of chips before paint, so I'm going to leave the body as is, and put it all back together...

I'm with Joe, the white body is looking good. There's some age and patina on it that is appropriate. But the headstock came around nicely.

okay. tuners are back on the headstock, new bridge ground wire in place, and neck pup and pickguard installed.

did some comparisons, and both neck and bridge pups from the mono Corsair basses are identical to the neck pup on the longnecker. the bridge pup on the longnecker has wider spacing.

looks like I have all the parts to complete, except the ring for the bridge pup, which was originally black plastic. Having cut some of them in the past, I'm thinking of going a different route with this one. Since the "holed" Corsair bass from Ozark is sort of a resto mod, and I've got a real RIC bridge pup and surround, I'm gonna put that on the Corsair, and use the chrome ring from the corsair as the ring for the longnecker. Different mount holes, but should look okay, and is a perfect fit for the pup.

I didn't have to change anything on it it was pretty good. With the barrel saddles it's less precise. The corsair was more of a pain. The E seems way off. Need to flop the saddle around. Or maybe the nut needs better filing...
