Prior to the Electra line, SLM's house brand was Custom Kraft. Many of the guitars were OEM badged Supro guitars. But, here is an example of what looks like an early "copy era" Japanese made LP style guitar w/ bolt on neck. I guess you could look at it as the precursor to the 2242.

Has anyone seen a Custom Kraft like this?

I've seen a couple on eBay over the years, but don't really search for them that often... I'd like to find one with the "Phoenix" headstock though!

What I find interesting about that advert is the lifetime guarantee on the neck for the budget entry level model but only a one year guarantee on the other two...

I like the knobs and the headstock binding by the nut - My guess is that's a pretty decent guitar.

Searching for "custom kraft" on ebay usually shows a half dozen or so guitars similar to the ones in the catalog page posted by McBrat.

I played a friends Kustom Kraft once. It was the lightest electric I have ever played. Decent sound. I was under the impression that they were made by Kay at least at one point.
