had this baby since '80,been stashed in my closet,anyway my ? is -does anyone know how to pull out the posts that hold the bridge (female) from the body without any damage to body!hope this makes sense! would make it much easier to sand & refinish. i'll post b-4 & after shots here. thanx jb (Indiana)

Easiest way is to find some bolts of the same size and pitch that are longer,screw them in until they bottom against body,then SLOWLY screw them in-this will push them out using the body for leverage-make sure there is enough meat below the inserts so you don't push a hole through the back of the body-bottom out screws,mark them and compare that measurement to overall body thickness. Do you really need to sand? You are gonna kill the value if you do any major refinishing-post some pics before you start,could be other alternatives....

You can drop a small nut or ball bearing etc, in the post and then screw them out with the regular post screw. Works like a charm.

thanx for the replys i'll try to answer each one if I can figure out how? YEA I NEED TO SAND & REFINISH IT WAS PAINTED CRANBERRY ( DONT ASK !!)I think what I was referring to was the ferrules( I that is spelled correctly) i'll post pix next posting thanx everyone,,i'm not concerned about value its just an old friend that has seen a lot of time on the road that almost got tossed out,,will be in touch,, pick on brothers!!!
