Not mine, but it looks good and the color scheme is pretty great.

That FX is so early I'd bet they were finishing x199's at the end of the line when they started that one. You don't see many FX Spectrums with what is really a Phoenix center stripe on them.

I thought all the 85-86 FX's had the stripe, except the white ones did not...

So this is basically an X199 with no heel?

Does anybody in STL feel like being my intermediary on this one?

Good point. The smoothed heel puts it at an 86 I believe. The 85 still had the set heel.

McBrat is dead on about the heel on these. The largest difference is probably that the X199 has a Bendmaster, and the FX has a Bendmaster FT with a locking nut, and the pickups switch to the bar style MMK's.

The necks on the X199 seem just a tad smaller to me, and I personally prefer the earlier MMK45s in the X199. I have samples of all the varieties and they are all exceptional guitars. Auction prices have noticeably escalated on these in the past year. Go for it! ;-)

Yes, but not for myself.

It's in nice original condition and has the smooth heel. Very cool.
