I'll try to paste the links to photobucket, then tell the story.

Ok, that's the Lady.

And now, I hope, the x 150:

Now, the story.

I was coming home from work two weeks ago and decided to stop by a pawn shop I know about. I had been saving some money and it was burning a hole in my pocket, Jonesing for an Electra. They had not one, but two in there. The first to catch my eye was the x150. It plays great, seemingly very little wear on the fretboard. One or two minor dings to the body, and the coil tap switch works, but has a weird roll in it. I rate it in 8/10 condition. I knew I wanted it, but did not have my money with me. The clerk offered to knock $75 off the price, and it includes the original hard case. I made arrangements to come back the next day and get it. In the meantime, I used the fine photos from these pages to show my wife what the guitar looked like.

I had also tried out the XV1R while I was there. I wasn't sure I would like that body style. I have a friend who has something like a dozen Electra/Westone/Aria guitars in his collection and I thought he might be interested. (He is the guy who turned me onto these fine instruments). Maybe he's cramped for room, but after a week, he hadn't gone for it. My wife told me to go ahead and get it and even went with me to pick it up (Guitar player's dream, that gal!)
So, now I own both. The clerk took $65 off the price of the Lady.

The XV1R I would rate as maybe 7/10. The body doesn't look bad, but has more knicks on it and it looks like it got a lot more action than the x150. I had to clean up the pots a little but they work fine now. It also came with the original hard case. I'm not crazy about the color.

I would also like to take the oppotunity here to thank all of you for your pictures and posts. Especially helpful have been Proendorser's youtube videos. I use those for tutorials on figuring out how to use the controls, get the tones out of them. I don't post a lot in here, but I enjoy reading the posts.

This is an Aria bass I got a few years ago (2007?) at a Sam Ash. It was used and i got it for a little over $100. Maybe you folks could help. Is it a cousin to the Electra/Westone line? Maybe the newer Korean made?

Nice catch minman!

You might try registering at the Guitar Gallery with pics of your bass. I am a member there as well as here and the Westone forum (one of a few trifecta-ites) and those boyz know their Mats builds, especially the Aria and Vantage lines.

I tried registering for that Guitar gallery forum - waste of time - wouldn't accept my Login, couldn't get the confirmation code correct after 4 tries - I mean, c'mon, I'm not hacking Ft Knox
