My family would like to extend our gratitude to you, Joe and any other forum members who are veterans whom I am not aware of Arthur.

Thanks as well to all currently serving members of all branches of our armed forces. We pray daily that you all might get home safe and sound.

Yeah, this is quite important in my opinion; as a family we attend the ANZAC Day parade - similar kind of thing to your Veterans Day, I assume?! - and pay tribute to the fallen and returned diggers. This year, here in Australia, I was staggered by the number of young men - late 20s and early 30s - in civilian clothes with chests full of medals who had obviously done their duty by their country and got out of the services.

The veterans are all around us yet we may never know who they are and obviously what they went through, and it is fitting indeed that we acknowledge their service and, in some cases, sacrifice.

My youngest bloke marched this year in a school band wearing his grandfathers ribbons; it is also fitting that we acknowledge the generations who turned out for earlier conflicts and did their bit.

I'm late to the party also. :P

A heart overflowing with gratitude and respect to our service men and women. To all on our forum whom have served, God bless you richly.

I get misty eyed everytime I hear our anthem, will always be a patriot through and through.
