Monday night I was practicing some classic rock style songs for one of the bands.

Was using the Carvin, which sounds great, but decided that the X935 would look great on stage so I pulled it out to give it a whirl on the classic rock songs. :-? :love: Surprised me again, MAN that thing sounds GREAT! Clear, plenty of bite, great mids, bigger frets, just a rocking guitar.

When's the last time one of your Electra's surprised you?

Every time I play them - really enjoy the satisfaction of owning and getting to use these unique axes;

And then when you're at a gig the conversations always get started about mfg date, if they are still available, etc. -

After a Christmas gig last year I had to take the X340 out of the case again just to show that it was NOT a Gibby .........

I am blessed in that I get to experience that same surprise each day as I make another round thru the collection. These instruments never cease to amaze me at their quality and many variations in tone and playability. I also get numerous curious questions and requests as to what instrument I am playing when I play gigs and I always use that as an opportunity to introduce these electra models to a new follower. I guess that makes me guilty of starting the egas in another unsuspecting musician. :up:

My Lady is out on rotation with Westones, a Vantage VA900 and a Strat; while, from a players POV, the Westone Genesis II is the flavour of the minute because of the utterly fabulous neck, that Lady , with the H/S/H and push /pulls ALWAYS raises the eyebrows when it's strapped on!!

To my ears, it is appreciably louder than other MMK45 equipped guitars I own with a very full mid range. I have the old amp I use inside set the same for every guitar, and am using an old Boss multi pedal; every time I use that Lady, I have to roll off a little on the volume pedal: odd, eh?!

And, if I'm honest, I do like the posing value that it gives me! Now, you blokes be honest, too; who doesn't like catching glimpses of themselves in the windows when they're at home, by themselves, having a wail on guitar, eh?! :lol:

A wife that supports your music is a real blessing;

My wife has been the best roadie I've ever had and she keeps an eye on my gear while I'm playing;

She also has given several guitars to me over the years as gifts - 2 back in the day while we were dating;

I think I'll keep her.

I bought a X190 a couple days ago cheap, not really expecting much, and boy was I blown away! Full story here:

The X935's are great guitars, I bought my first one without having even played it, just on its looks alone, and still pick one up when I need a 'Chameleon' for live use. The Maple Pro is a favorite of mine too, plays so easy and talk about an expressive voice! Cheers, Mike.

I don't know if I can say "still" surprises me, but I really am surprised by the XV1R I recently picked up. All the different tones that it can produce. Also, it's easier to hold than I thought it would be.
