I just picked up an Electra Tele Thinline. Can someone help me ID it or provide any info?

It's a blonde body, (not chestnut) with 3 piece neck w/ maple fretboard. The "Electra" logo on headstock is MOP. It has a Wide Range style humbucker neck pickup (3X3 offset pole pieces) and standard Tele bridge pup w/ vintage style 3 saddle bridge. Pickguard is large black. Has 2 control knobs and toggle switch by the knobs.

That's the closest one I've seen to it except it has neck humbucker and standard Tele bridge pup along with the different pickguard & bridge. The toggle isn't a slide but rather a standard Gibson style 3-position switch with a plastic tip like a LP.

Where can I find a tutorial on how to post pics. I'd love to show the guitar to you guys and get your input. It's a really cool guitar and I believe it to be all original.

Is it possibly a refinish on a 2270C? Look at the ad further down the page. It has same black pick guard. http://www.rivercityamps.com/electrapag ... 008-032242

No, I don't see any way it's a refin...the poly finish is old and has no signs of a refin. The bridge is a vintage style and I don't see any screw holes from the different shape of a bridge from a 2270C like in that picture. Also, the pickups are both "Maxon", so I have to assume the Wide Range style neck HB pickup is original as is the vintage style bridge pup. My thoughts are that it might be an earlier version of the 2270C. I don't know though...that's why I'm coming to you guys.

With that logo and square bridge, I would wager that if anything it is a later version. The finish is a curiosity, SLM was very fastidious about giving unique model numbers to identical guitars with different finishes. I like the black pick guard! Best of luck.

I've got a pic of one in my archives (yes, I'm still working on it occasionally) I have it listed as a 2270N, but that may have just been me assigning it something. looking at the catalogs, I'm missing a '75 full catalog, and the '74 catalogs still showed the rounded tail piece, so it is conceivable that this is a '75 model. The Avengers all had the same model number 2275, with a letter denoting the finish. This probably is why I have it listed as 2270N, but I have no idea where the photo came from... The pic I have, it's sitting in front of 2 amps. a Vox Valvetronix, and a Crate 120

Well, we now know there was at least two of this model shipped in whatever year it was made.

How much would you guys say this guitar is worth? I picked it up at a pawn shop for $200. Wasn't sure how good a deal it was, but it's such a cool guitar and seems like it's of pretty decent quality. Personally, I think the pickups are pretty lame but the guitar itself is very well made.

I think you got a good deal for $200. These seem to go in the $300-$450 range. As far as the pick ups go the earlier models tend to have ones that are not as good as those made after Tom Presley took over. The general timeline on Electra seems to be; the PCM early models had inferior electronics and varying build quality (some can be good but due to multiple plants building them it is a crapshoot if you have a good one). Then the pre Tom Presley era for SLM had better build quality overall but the pick ups can come up short to some people's expectations. Finally the best electronics were implemented under Tom.
