It wasn't in particularly great shape either. I'm not convinced those are the original tuners, and did anyone notice the jack installed on the Battery cover? Possibly a connector for power to the active circuit? But who knows, maybe Prince used it on the Purple Rain album!!

Well I would suspect fowl play or false bids on this one as I do not think that this one would bring anywhere near that especially with the oddities on this one. I would suspect someone want to drive the prices up and use this one as a justification for future values and I would think we may see this one listed again sometime in the near future. Just my opinion. Only other way I see this price is if the original owner found his or her long lost Electra and had to have it again.

A grand is too high for an X-150.

Right now, anyway.

But $500 is probably okay for a good one, and there aren't that many out there.

Everything is relative! There are a lot more X150's out there than X149's... I've only seen them in pictures.

I did see an X149 in 1983 at Metro Music in Fort Lauderdale. It was the same store I bought the Purple X150 at. I almost tried to trade for it since the strings went thru the back.

Here's a X149, the first one I think I've ever seen listed. The bridge has been changed, as well as the knobs on this one. In it's present modified condition, the Seller is dreaming ($675 shipped), but still, this is a guitar that you seldom see offered.
