Hi guys. Excuse me for being a newb here, and don't play much anymore.

Sitting in my closet is an x940 Vulcan in great external shape. Pots are noisy. Has MPC modules (phase shift and overdrive) but not sure if working. Pickups seem to be OK.

What might it be worth? Should I sell as-is or get my local luthier to fix up?

Any advice appreciated.

Bob (beachboync)

Sounds like a keeper -

Some Caig Deoxit from Radio Shack will clean up those noisy pots ........

From John Thornburg's tip:

You can also use a pencil eraser on those MPC module contacts just in case they aren't working.

I always vote to keep it so just give it some playtime before you make your decision and I believe it will speak for itself. These are awesome instruments and a joy to play but if it will not be played then rest assured it will find a good home and be enjoyed by someone.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I think it will be a good idea to play her or a while, I am in no rush to sell.

I do have spray contact cleaner and a pencil, so perhaps time to dive in.

Thanks, Bob

IMO -

I would use a big eraser - I would be afraid of scratching the module with a pencil eraser .....
