I read that the Venturas were close to the same as the Electras. Can anyone confirm this is Japanese made? Also, who made the pickups? Would love any info anyone might have.

Here's my '74 with non-original knobs. It does look similar,but the pickups on yours should look like the ones on mine.
I think that some of the parts on yours has been changed, but it looks by the headstock it could be a '72.

Those pickups resemble Univox units to me,I've had a couple of their LP copies that looked identical to those....

I have yet to see a confirmed MIJ that did not say so on the neck plate. I suspect Cort, MIK.

Here is a link to the best info I know of on the Ventura models. They are nice guitars but like the early Electra models they were also sourced from many manufacturers.

I have a ca 1961 Kawai that is most definitely made in Japan with no MIJ anywhere, and I have seen several other guitars that I'm sure were made in Japan also not marked as such, so they aren't always marked (I think this could be related to where they were intended to be marketed).....is the body solid or laminated, solid more likely MIJ
