I just got my first MPC, though not my first Electra (I had a Gold Top Super Rock in high school, and more recently a 2259). It plays great, sounds great, but didn't come with any modules. I have this feeling that there are some effects that I might prefer to the available modules anyway SO:

Is there anyone out there making Fuzz Faces, Mosfet boosts, Orange Squeezers, or analog delays in MPC formats? I saw McBrat's pinout mapping, but I fear that I am both too lazy and too stupid to make my own.

Any leads?

Hardest part would be the circuit card that holds the components. Probably not available.

I have made a few things, including a fuzz with a circuit very similar to a Fuzz Face. One easy way to do it is to take apart a Power Overdrive and hack the FF type circuit on the board. PM me if you are interested.

There are a few other ideas on custom made modules floating around, too.

Analog delay would be sweet:o You could just adjust the speed from the external knob, but then have the depth and level set with the knobs on the module and the option to add modulation with a button or switch like on the MXR Carbon Copy. Only if:/

*but then again, for the price someone would charge for something like that it would be way more practical to just buy a Carbon Copy if that's what your going for

I'd asked our local amp shop about this very thing, Vukmanic Amplifiers in Lemoyne, PA. They seemed very interested and confident that they could custom make custom MPC effects. Haven't done it yet, been raising money for another venture. They also make custom effects that they insert into guitar bodies.

So try it, you may be successful. Or link up with an amp shop or custom effects builder.

I contacted Electra (Ben and the boys) and ask if a reissue of modules might be possible. They didnt say yes, but they didnt say no. I would like to have some new reissued 1-12 modules to buy that work. If that were to happen, I would buy a second MPC. These things work and I have always found them usefull. With my 310, a phase, trebble/bass boost and octave I can get sounds like Trower, Hendrix, Page, Frehley, Gilmore and it goes on.

These should work. They have a top and bottom terminal, and MPC only uses the bottom. I have a few sitting around, if someone does not have enough time to wait on shipping from China or whatever.

A while back I found both the edge connector and the board in the Allied Electronics cat. I had them wrote down somewhere but couldnt find it. Its in the cat but hard to find on line.

http://www.alliedelec.com/

If you cant find it on line go to the home page and they have a catalog they can mail you, but its huge.

Man, I go away for a couple weeks and here y'all are being total heroes. Thanks for the info, I'll look at those jacks and see where I'm at with doing maybe a fuzz face on vero for a start. Thanks!
