Good luck. Here is a nice step by step on doing a sunburst. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/topic ... line-dyes/

This looks much harder than spray can method, which is what I did

Just stumbled upon Electra a few months ago and took a chance on the black 310. It arrived and I liked the guitar but wasn't happy with the sound. One set of pickups changed and I knew that was the issue. I now have a stock four wire 490/498 set in the black one and 57 classic neck and a vintage Dimarzio DP100 bridge in the sunburst which came with that pickup. Both can switch to single coil with the pull of the tone knob. Refinish was a nice challenge but wasn't that hard with patience and Behlen nitro can spray which was first time using the brand. Even though I don't play in a band im very picky as to what I keep. The group pic represents about 25 years of buying and selling. For each one pictured there are many more which didn't make the cut and are gone. Im not a high dollar buyer buy like quality and like Tacoma acoustics Electra's are one of those rare forgotten guitars that are a great value.

Yours *both X300 series* have nice abalone inlays too. My x330 has 3 rather dark abalone inlays - the others are much nicer. Yours seem more consistently nice. Again, great job and congrats.

Still can't believe I won the auction for $230. Although have added a pod, fuzz and phaser along with the neck pick up.
