Hello. First time post. I ran across an Electra X720 at a shop the other day. The price they are asking is $600. Is this a good price? The guitar appears to be in good shape, there is no brand on it. Thanks!

If the Outlaw X720 is in good condition and original with case and MPC modules then that is a good price range. The MPC modules can be found on ebay and also some forum members. If the MPC components have been removed or do not work then expect the range to be $400 or so but with original status and case and modules it goes up from about the $500-900 range depending on the condition. Grab it but negociate al little first.... the Outlaw models are a love it or hate it case most times but are very solid built and great players. Welcome to the forums

I think I will pass on it. It does not have the original case or any of the modules.

If you're passing on it, please tell us where it is. Someone else may want it! If you're serious about it, check the frets and make sure they're not worn out or dented up. Also make sure the truss rod works, ask him to show you it working (see the neck bowing and straightening out). Offer him $400, detailing to him the reasons why, which are because it doesn't have the original case (which run about $100 or more adding on shipping) and the lack of two modules (which run about $60 - $100 each). Tell him that an X720 with case and two modules sell for $600 - $700, I just bought mine in that price range from Guitar Center.

I just bought one, like it a lot.

Good looking condition Outlaw X720.

If you want an Outlaw, I say buy it. They're pretty rare and that's not a bad price. And they're GREAT players! It has a coffin case, which is better than no case at all.

From the feeling I get from this seller's ad, I'd imagine that he's not going to part with it for less than $550. If I were you, I'd go to the seller and say "I'll give you $550 cash today, as it is".

If he says no to $550, I'd tell him: "These Outlaws sell with TWO modules AND original case sell for around $600-$650, I'm offering you $550 with ZERO modules and WITHOUT the original case. This is a fair deal. Do we have a deal? I'll be over today with cash". If he still isn't budging, make a final offer for $575 and seal the deal.

Let me know how it goes! I have an extra Power Overdrive module that I will sell you for a very fair price. Was keeping it to have Thorny mod it one day, but if you buy this Outlaw you'll want a module to go with it.

Looks pretty good - I'd start at $450 and bow out around $525 - but I'm cheap and don't care for coffin cases. :)
