I picked this guitar up for a really good deal. I had never heard of Electra until today, but given the condition and the sound of the guitar it was worth what I paid. What I want to know is, what model is this guitar? I have been scouring the internet all day, especially the model list on this forum and have come up with absolutely nothing about it. Can anyone help me out?

That is a PCM Electra (pacific coast music I believe). Those had a different Emblem, and different models. They offered a variety of models, different models than the SLM (St. Louis Music) Electra - which is the one with the Peace Sign Logo. The PCM models are not documented well, and I think they had a very large variety as far as quality goes. I have seen a few models that might be of lessor quality than the SLM Electras, but I have seen some others that appear to be very nice quality. A lot less is known about these models. That one sure looks nice.

Looks to be a Fujigen build from the 70's. Search 2355M and you'll find the info. You've got a rare one there. That's the first ELECTRA branded 2355 I've seen, even if it is a PCM.

I got this is in an estate sale kind of situation. I bought it from a friend of the deceased, who was selling his guitars to help out the deceased's widow. All the seller knew was that this guitar had been sitting in a uhaul trailer along with a few other older guitars and amps. I bought it on the spot just based on its looks and the fact that the electronics were functioning perfectly. The humbuckers sound amazing, very clear and punchy; almost like noiseless P-90's.
I immediately set up the guitar with flat-wound 11s since the current strings were starting to form their own ecosystem.
The only real issue, other than some checking, is there is a slight twist in the next above the twelfth fret that really only effects the low-e string. I think I'll have my luthier friend check that out tommorow.

Wow congrats on the find. It is a beautiful guitar! I am certainly glad it isn't in a uhual trailer!

I don' t think that this guitar is an early PCM. From what I have read, the Ibanez version of this ES-175 copy was made circa 1975-1981. I believe that this is about the same time frame as the one Electra "Les Paul Jr" that is seen on the Electra/Rivercity Amp page. Early PCM Electras seem to be all badged with rectangular or oval plates that are affixed to the headstock.

Yet it is a sweet looking guitar! Nice find.

As with the PCM models not to much info but I was just guessing by the shape of the open book headstock. It's a toss up on the age of the PCM models but the Badge styles do play a role as well in the date of manufacture. No matter it is a super nice looking guitar. Enjoy
