So I got a Crate Electra Standard Les Paul copy last night from a friend.
Paid $150 for it, is that worth it?
What were these going for (price range) when they came out?
I think they were in the 90's?

Also can someone tell me with this serial what year it is? No: 138718
And here's a pic of it: http://i46.tinypic.com/w86wk1.jpg

I don't know what anyone else thinks but I think it's a pretty good deal, especially when you compare to what else is out there in that price range. I own one just like yours - paid $200 with a hard shell case and a Line 6 Spyder II 30 watt amp. (could take or leave the amp)
I took it to a luthier for a set up and toggle switch replacement. He told me that it appeared to be made from a solid piece of mahogany with a thin maple cap. The pickups are pretty high output and mine plays like butter as well as being pretty nice to look at - other than the head stock IMHO.

Yeah I love the thing.
It really reminds me of my Gibson Les Paul Studio I traded a year ago.
The feel/sound and everything but the color.
I believe mine is mahagony and maple cap as well.
I could have gotten the original case for it for an additional $50, but I don't need it
Saved me $50 :P

I'd just like to know more info about it, year it was made and what types of pick-ups and such.

any luck figuring out dates? mines a black les Paul imitator, picked it up last week for $90.00, good used condition. the pickups are hot! and it plays pretty well too. I just can't find ANY info on this thing, I'm thinking it's gotta be late 80's Korean

If it says Crate Electra - it is much later than 80s. It is likely early 2000s, maybe very late 90s. These were inexpensive guitars, some were pretty decent quality and some were not. Sounds like you got a good one. Anyhow at $90 it should be a pretty good deal. You see the common "super strat" style, a hum with 2 singles, all over the place and those are the ones I see more often. They were beginner kits frequently sold with a crate amp.
