I need some help determining the exact model of my 1984 or 1985 Electra Westone electric guitar. I believe it's a Spectrum series, but not sure which one. I'm the original owner, but I can't seem to find my original owners manual. It's a metallic plum color and has no other markings that I can see to tell me anything else. It's body is almost identical to this model (http://www.westone.info/spectrumgt.html), but logo at the top of the neck is different. It states Electra "Logo" Westone. If anyone could help me out or point me in the right direction for other resources I'd appreciate it.

Sounds like an X185rm, rose metallic maybe? Check the model index at top left of page.

I don't know how I missed the index. I think that's the one, but the knobs are different than mine. Plus the plate in the back is black not chrome. Otherwise it's a match. Thanks

The knob design might have changed over the couple of years that they made them. Yours would have to be a later one made in 1984. That was the only year that they were branded Electra Westone. Which plate is not chrome on yours, the neck bolt plate?

Yes the back neck plate is black. I'm pretty sure I bought it in 1984. It's been very difficult tracking this down since information is very limited on the web especially since this model was only made for 1 year.

I've seen both chrome and black neck plates on Spectrums.....
