Everyone of my electras has the same issue. With the truss rod loose and 10.5 guage strings I have just enough relief in the neck but wish there was more bow so I could make fine adjustments right now I have no adjustment.

My Outlaw's neck is dead straight and won't bow. It's ok since it's straight, no issues with backbow or anything. With humidity and the nut loose (with room to spare), you should see more of a bow occurring. Humidity swells the wood so it should bow. Winter is bad for relief.

Forgot to say that my other Electras are fine however, I can get as much bow as I want on them (X240, X935, X930, Dynasty).

If the wood's too dry it will straighten out, and older guitars will do that and need a bit of humidity.

I'm in California so it is dry but I do run a humidifier where they're stored and I got them like they are. I actually set my first one on the floor with a towel on top and about 35 pounds of weight sitting at the next joint for about two weeks and it definitely helped

Crazy things like that work!

I've seen people clamp them the neck (on either end and in the middle, slowly adjusting pressure to create a bow), or use heavy strings like .13's, tune high like F standard and put a small dowel rod under the 12th fret and leave it in a humid environment for a week, while checking it every day.

These things usually work. If they don't, heat and loosen the glue under the fretboard and reset. Sometimes it's the fretboard keeping it too straight. Another option is to pull the frets, clamp the neck for the bow, and then re saw the fret grooves.

I have my forth 300 series on the way hopefully nothing that drastic will be needed. This one is a 340.

Thanks Thorny, it was on shambay but I talked the guy into selling direct for a deal. It was listed as a 70's MPC ELECTRA LP Edition (Revised listing)
