This one is a steal at this price, and we don't see too many x160's around.

I spy a battery cover... I'd say it's a X160 in Graphite, they have been spotted in colors other than the Metallic Brown before. If the circuit still works, that's a steal. Too bad I'm through my active collecting phase.

And gone! ..... Anyone here want to fess up?

I'm glad someone picked it up at that price. The parts are worth more than that, and maybe even the active circuit still functioned. The cheap ones are still out there guys.

:hyper: :hyper: Well it's time to fess up on this one as it arrived today. After long discussions with the owner I was able to verify the active circuits and it is indeed as we suspected a hard to find X160 in graphite. It is in rough shape and will need a good heavy cleaning and going thru but the electronics all look original as well as the control knobs, trem tuners etc and the Active circuit works. Only problem is a really weak Bridge pup which I suspect is only a wire issue. Has all three push pulls and original 3 way as well so may just need a good cleaning. Bridge pup has static and low volume but neck is awesome. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this one or a photo I can eyeball to check the wiring? This one has a big chunk of paint missing from a nasty ding on the lower side but the frets etc are OK. Has a trem bar wrapped in black electrical tape. I will try to get some photos posted maybe in am when I get a start on the cleaning etc. This one will be a great player when I am done. thanks for any help anyone can lend as to the wire diagram for this one. Thanks Arthur aka mortarman120gang11c

That is a rare one indeed. I can only think of 1 other that has come up in the last 5 years that was not brown in color (and that one was never confirmed as an X160). Congrats Arthur, I hope to see the pics and maybe it can make it to Electrafest 2014.

:hyper: :bawl: 8) Well here are the first round of photos. I got her broken down and cleaned up a bit today only to discover a few setbacks. The trem assembly is completly broken where the 6 screws attach to the body so will need a new trem assy. The body cleaned up nice and the decals and stickers etc came off OK. All the wires and pots look original and in good shape but still no volume from the single coil tap mode. Could be the push/pull or three way so I sprayed them down with cleaner and will wait and see. Tuners are in great shape and the neck is straight and truss rod works perfect. Nut is in great shape as well. The fretboard looks to be in good shape after a much needed cleaning and frets are somewhat worn for normal playing but overall in good shape with no major issues. The Active circuit works great so that is a big plus. The neck pocket piece between the neck pickup and the neck pocket is broken but I think I may be able to glue it back in OK. Thats it for now and if anyone knows the whereabouts of another replacement trem assy please let me know. Thanks and more to come.

That's a yummy colour, eh!! Shame about the bridge edge; what is it about these that makes people screw them down so tight that they shatter?? The Wilkinson 5+1 slots straight in, Arthur - I put one into my X195 before I found an OEM bridge for it.

That little piece of wood between the neck pocket and pickup cavity: why bother gluing it back? They started routing that out completely a little later on so I'd just tidy it up and leave it...

Are you going to match the paint and patch the graunches?

I likes me a Spectrum/Phoenix...

:hyper: :hyper: Well got it all back together and the Wilkenson 5+1 works great until I get another original replacement. She cleaned up very well and all that is left to do is to wait on my paint guy to match the paint to fix the big chunk on the bottom edge that was I believed removed as it shows no signs of dents or being dropped. These finishes are tough as nails and clean up very well. Take a look see and I will be bringing her to the Electrafest this year for all to check out.. Only had a few minor wire issues to fix and all electronics are original and 100% again. this one has awesome active electronics that will make it growl very loud and nice. See all at the fest. The new photos are the last ones in the album found here,

Great job Arthur, you brought her back, that's for sure. :D

Looks like it has a mirror finish.
