The new Omega review will hit the streets in Guitar World next week. They posted a video review on their site. Here's the link if you'd like to check it out.

Paul makes the guitar shine, great playing! Sounds snarly and cutting, very well done. Hope it makes its way to Youtube soon, everyone watches Paul's videos. Great exposure.

Hey, he does do a pretty good job reviewing guitars. Too bad he said it had a rosewood board instead of ebony - should have gotten that straight. But that cleared up in the comments.

As far as Electrafest I will bring my black Omega and I should also have my new trans black Phoenix S model in by then too. The guys said they'd send some swag for giveaways possibly. I hope to have a semi-organized discussion of electra history, Tom Presley will be there and cover it from his point of view, and talk about collecting, repairing, playing electras. We will cover MPCs. We will also discuss the new Electra guitars (including the ones we will have onsite).

Now I am busy dusting off my Electras, tuning them up, in some cases changing strings, tuning up my amps (what they say about the mechanic's car being neglected is somewhat true). I can't afford to restring all mine :-) - Arthur, you'd need to mortgage your house :) BTW, I got the strobe tuner app for my iPhone - FANTASTIC - best $10 or so you could ever spend (and it is ALWAYS with you). I used to have the big strobe tuner and microphone a long time ago - the phone is much more handy and costs a LOT LESS (way less than the newer floor pedal versions too). I won't buy another tuner.

See you guys at the Electra Fest here in E-ville July 19th (doing my best Dr. Evil imitation).

:D

Thorny, good video of Tom will be greatly, greatly appreciated. This may be our only chance to get him on video discussing Electra (and Westone if you can). Will be wonderful for history's sake.

Yeah, I will try to video if it is OK with Tom - maybe webcam it. Some of the members will be setting up the webcam like before. It may not be manned the entire time because I want people on site to be enjoying their time too. So we will at least split up those duties a little bit to be fair, or set it in a fixed place possibly for presenting. Will play that by ear. I need to fire up my amps as well as my guitars to work out any gremlins (some have not been played for a while). It has been crazy around here! I need to get handouts made out for the people on site. I need to invite a few people. I have also asked my buddy Dave Bryant from Six Strings Down in Plainfield (Indianapolis) to come down too - he is a friend of the forum and found me this Dynasty we will be giving away.

I can't wait. I know it seems I am kinda winging it, but there really is a lot to do. I am sorry it has taken so long for me to get around to doing it. Frankly, my collection is not as impressive as most of yours. But I hope you have a a good time here in Evansville (or E'ville as it is frequently referred to) and at the Fest. St. Louis was a really good time when Brad Davis and I went. I just don't want it to suck

Thanks, and I'll stop because I don't want to hijack this thread. The new Electras will be represented by 4 or more guitars. That is pretty good. We may have some swag too.

See you guys there (or online).

Many of us can't see it live, will the video be uploaded some place we can watch it after it happens?

We will try for a YouTube posting afterward. Send in those questions now to Thorny.

Yes, thanks!

And we have to make sure Tom is OK with recording/posting - I have not gotten to speak with him directly yet and he fairly recently confirmed. He seems pretty cool about such things but we are making a lot of assumptions. If he is OK then we will do so.

Oh, how I wish I could be there!! :(

Just to meet Tom...

..... and, of course, meeting some of the rest of the nutbars in here would be enough for this kiwi  ; being able to fiddle with the guitars would be a bonus!!

I'll be there in spirit, guys, as well as cyber-stalking you!!
