I just picked up a 1981 omega x220. Somebody went at the wiring and was probably using the wrong end if the soldering iron. I want to put it back to org spec. The 5 way was removed but I found one on the bay but all the wires are the same color coax cable and some connections are removed and others broken. Does any one have a schematic for the non mpc lp copies and if possible a photo of what the wiring should look like I did find the diagram of the 5way but the 2 knobs and 2 toggles ive struck out

Thanks

There is a good picture in this link of the insides of an unmolested Omega...

http://www.rivercityamps.com/electraforum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4904

and there is a good diagram of the 5 way rotary on the old electra pages, choose HOME in the upper left corner, then old electra pages, then there is a MPC diagrams section, choose the wiring for the switch. The 5-way switch is wired similarly. Duh! There is a excellent link to the updated version of that just above this message in this forum, titled "updated MPC wiring diagrams."

I believe the signal flows like this:
- the pickups
- to the switches with the capacitors
- to the rotary switch
- to the volume control/tone control (pretty standard vol and tone wiring - both 500K)
- to the output jack

I believe that is the way it works. That would be a different order than the MPC, but the wiring of the pickups is the same at the 5-way switch - just the MPC pickups go directly to the rotary switch. You also might be able to read the values of the caps on those switches off of that picture - it is a good picture.

I don't think we have a wiring diagram. I don't have an original Omega to trace it out better for you. I hope this helps.
