The Scorpions have a new album out, and it is surprisingly good. I confess, I didn't know what to expect. I used to like them but I have not gotten anything of theirs since the late 80s probably.

It's worth a listen if you ever liked them prior.

I thought it was OK. Not like their old stuff too much but definately decent for a new music listening session. Too bad their old stuff hasn't held up in my opinion. Just a few great songs and a lot of OK stuff...

I will have to check it out. I used to be a big fan but mostly of their older stuff from the 70's when Ulrich Roth was their lead guitarist. He was very Hendrix influenced. Michael Schenker also played on some of their early stuff. Most of it was much different from the music that they became successful with. I did see them live in the early 80's though with Matheus Jabs and they where very good live.
I almost lost it the other day though when I heard Rock you like a Hurricane on a Fiber One commercial. Back to "you know you're old when...."

Yea I heard it was out, I might have heard a song on Trunk Nation monday nights on sirus radio. Tune in on Hair Nation, Monday from 5:00PM - 9:00PM central for LIVE radio. I've saw a bunch of interviews on TMS (That Metal Show) on VH1 Saturday Night 8:00PM (for us old folks) and a replay at 10:00PM Central, running new shows starting last week. This is one way I keep up with the older groups and hear about the new groups too.

Back to the thread, I will have to pick it up and check it out. I heard it had good reviews. I really like the guitar solos and the double lead the group has always done.
