I built an ikea pedal board, and it's great. I have no complaints. Currently I'm running six pedals: a BBE Boosta Grande (clean boost), a Mod Persuader (12AX7 overdrive), a Belcat Analog Chorus, a Digitech Digidelay, a Caline Blue Ocean analog delay, and a TC Electronic HOF reverb. I'd like to add a tuner and a phaser (MXR Variphase) to the board. But I'm having an issue with my power supply.

I picked up a cheap power supply off ebay from a supplier out of China http://www.ebay.com/itm/170714874571?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT Unfortunately, I've had nothing but problems with it. It shorts out constantly. I've had a similar problem with the Digidelay.

Anyone have any wisdom on either of these, or recommendations of a better power supply for the board?

Not really, though blokes I know have the Godlyke power supply and swear by it.

Sometimes the Chinese gear doesn't really make the grade, you know... I've had the oppotunity to compare gear quality when renovating guitars and I've learned that for simple stuff - straplock buttons and tailpieces, for example - the Chinese kit is as good as any, but for critical items - locking tuners - then Schaller, Gotoh et al have their reputation for a reason!!

My gear is so old that I get away with Boss PSM 5s driving it....

8) I use a good ole vintage Electra pedal power supply to run my pedals. It is built like a tank and has never given any problems and I can always count on it to stay steady as a rock no matter what. They can be found on ebay and are excellent. Will power up to 4 pedals each. take a look on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Electra ... 3cee639c79

I use the Voo Doo Lab 2 plus, it works with all of the pedals I currently use. There are some pedals that wont work on it so check it out to see if its compatible with your rig before you buy. Its a little pricey but I picked one up on a Musicians Friend before christmas sale last year. Really you have to look at the demand from your pedals and match the power supply to that and what you might add later. If your using an 18 volt pedal or pedals you will have to match the demand to that. Not having to mess with the batteries makes it worth checking out.
