Yes, there were changes over the few years made and specs seem to have been '' fluid'' :)

I am new to the Electra forums and to Electra guitars as I just inherited what I think is a 1977 X510. I would appreciate it if someone could confirm this for me. I am not sure if I can attach pic but I did upload to image site.

That definitely appears to be an X510,trc cover is the wrong one,but correct style-beautiful example. Welcome aboard, any other Electras?

Thanks for positive ID of my X510. The trc cover confused me when looking it up in the model index. This guitar in pretty good shape but needs a little cleaning up. The previous owner also drilled a hole for new output jack but never used it just plugged it with wood putty. I also have the a Electra X410 Jazz Strad which is in good shape. It has been cleaned up and new electronics put in by qualified guitar shop recently. Any idea what these guitars are worth?

Those are 2 very nice Electra models you have there. The X510 looks nice and you don't see them as often. The X410 is also nice but dependinf on what electronics were changed that can have a drastic effect on the price. All original=top dollar as the pickups and electronics on the X410 were some of the best Uncle Matt ever produced. Same with the X510. Super nice guitars, Congrats and thanks for the pics. As for value goes that is dependent on condition, originality, etc and varies a great deal in price range for both models. Best idea of a value can be found by searching completed auctions on ebay etc to get an idea of the price ranges. It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it but these two are the upper end models and hold their value well so long as they remain stock.Good Luck and welcome to the forums. My vote is that you should keep them both and if you play them much you will see why I say that. 8)

I have never played solid or hollow body electrics before but I did take time to play these two a little and they do play well and sound good. I have mixed emotions about selling but need to sell off a few of my collection for another project coming up in next month or so. Thanks for all input as to the ID and beauty of these two. Only be a member of the forum for a short time but have enjoyed all the postings and information on guitars from my early years of playing music.

Here is my 1984 Electra Westone Spectrum LX Model X189. I still think the finish on the body looks like a big slab of Marble. My first Electra in 50 years of playing guitar. Must say I'm pretty impressed. Platefire

so this is my x640n Electra Bass...
I have a few questions if someone could help...

1. Can you give me any info on the serial number: 2041562
2. Does anyone know where I could find the brass replacement knobs? missing 2
3. Does anyone know where I might find a battery cover?
4. A friend really wants to buy it, but is only offering $100...should i sell it for $100? (part of me really wants to just restore it, and keep it)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your serial number denotes this info (only works on stamped numbers in headstock - not the foil tags):

First number is year 2 = 1982
Second two numbers are month 04 = April
Last numbers = production number of unit 1562 = 1562th unit produced.

For the brass knobs, they show up once in a while on the regular auction sites. You have to keep looking. I don't know of any people reproducing these.

For battery cover, you might want to make your own out of plastic. Someone here could give you a tracing of theirs.

An X640 should be worth more than the $100.00 your friend wants to give for it.
