The bridge on my 2278 Rick copy is lifting in the back and affecting the action as a result. Has anybody else experienced that and what did you do to fix it? I shimmed the neck but the front 2 neck screws are short to begin with and I'm not sure how well they'll hold in the long run.
What I thought about doing was removing the bridge, flattening it back into shape, then drilling 3 holes in it through the bar where the strings go through underneath and screwing it down with 3 countersunk screws. It'll put some new holes in the bridge and bass but it should help stabilize it. I've seen people do similar things on real Ricks.

I have not had that problem with my Corsair. But something doesn't quite look right. Shouldn't the strings be lower after the bridge where the strings would have gone down into the slots further? That is where originally there was some string muffling foam on mine. I never liked the deadening that the foam did to the sound and removed it but I remember the strings being lower into those slots.

The action's higher than normal because of the bridge lifting. I have the bridge saddle all the way down.

I think a new bridge would be a better solution. Hipshot makes a nice one.

Anybody know if a standard Rick bridge will fit?

Mcbrat may be able to help with that info.

yes, standard RIC bridge/tail will fit perfectly. as will most of the aftermarket tails designed for the 4001. And yes, the Hipshot replacement while pricey is easier to adjust, and more solid than the original, but keeps the same footprint.
