Right. Well.... I have an Avenger AV325 underway presently; a very kind soul in western Queensland gave it to me to shut me up, so I've decided to custom finish it as a partner to the Corsair Avenger!

Going to be the same blueburst as the Corsair Avenger - the wide blue Pacific, after all - with Bougainville being jungle green with Mount Bagano and a couple of the famous Australian battle sites picked out like Slaters Knoll and Porton Plantation - both of which Dad flew support flights for! Hans may well change things a little and I trust him implicitly to keep it simple, subtle and tasteful. I was thinking of 2 lines of text under the picture of the island: "Lest we forget
Bougainville 1944/45"

... picked out in smallish font. Thoughts, gang?? I don't want to over do this - the restraint shown on the Corsair Avenger had a huge payoff as I think it is magnificent!

So... come on... shoot me down if you think it warrants it! :)

Something along these lines...

I think it's a great idea. Looks cool especially the Island and the hat on top. We must never forget the sacrifices that that generation made to keep the world free.

Perfectionist bloody painters....

Hee hehe hee... Hans reckoned there was a little work to be done on the body so said he'd do it.... or - if I had the time and inclination - I could!

So... being a thrifty kind of guy, I took it home and have filled - with a very, very fine filler that he gave me to use - and sanded - I went nuts and sanded down to 2000 grit - the silly thing to within an inch of it's life... it's as smooth as a gravy sandwich now!!

I'll take it back in when I go to Maryborough on Tuesday...
