I just got an X630 bass on craigslist for $150.00.
I know a little about it from what's on the internet, but if anyone out there
has one & can elaborate a bit more, it'd be appreciated.

I'd like to know any info. on who made the pups, & what anyone thinks of
the brass nut, as I've never owned another bass with one, & it's advantages/disadvantages?

Any noteable players ever been caught using one?

Any general info./opinions on the X630'd be great.

Also, serial # is 1123012, I assume that's around 1981?

That one was manufactured dec 1981. I prefer the brass nuts as they seem to last forever. I use the fampus Nut Sauce with all mine and never have any issues. I have seen the brass nuts on ebay but not often, if replacement needed would have to get one made.

Brass nuts can be bought on line or you can make your own. I found a bunch of you tube vids on it. and theres these,
