I'm going to re-inventory my guitars over the next couple weeks to prevent more embarrassing incidents like the it-takes-me-30-minutes-to-find-an-X420-semi-hollow from Saturday.

I believe I have twelve anniversary guitars now. I'll get them all together.

Once Jack gets his inventory compiled, we can figure out what was exactly there. I know I brought the x135C, 2278 mono Corsair bass, x420, white Futura and the new Electra Phantom quilt Talon. I then purchased the x940 blond Vulcan. I know ProEndorser brought an x935CS, a 2266 Burgundy Pro, a red Futura, a thinline Tele Electra amongst others. Thorny brought his 2281 Elvin, an X310, a Dicky Betts small dot Vulcan, the black Omega prototype from the new Electra company amongst his others. These guys can fill in the rest of the blanks.

Oh... love to see that prototype Omega of Thorny.

And how do you like your Talon? I truly love mine. I feel privileged, it's the Phantom Quilt they used for the photo shoots, the one they used for the website.

Jack, all your guits together would be a blast to see! History demands it. :D

In true klutz fashion I am showing off the new electra (if you want to see it, it is the one in the early youtube demos - the black one - the first production made prototype - the example model of the line). I will look through the photos I have in the photobucket, because all my guitars are in at home and I have nothing available in the hotel. This guitar went to NAMM that first year. I asked them to let me know if they ever sell it, and they did. They even made me a deal on it. Truly nice of them. In fact, it is a great guitar. Well, I am showing this thing off to the guys and enjoying playing it, and a raising up from sitting down and the strap falls off a side. BANG! the guitar drops a foot or two to Jacks coffee table! I am HUGELY embarrassed. But the actual input jack hits the edge of the table first. It must have taken MOST of the impact, it was a switchcraft end, and completely decimated it. The little tip broke completely off inside, and is rolling around in the guitar. Luckily, the guitar seems to have survived almost unscathed. An ever so slight pencil point sized mark was all I could find, and I am not sure it was there. I looked it over pretty well.

I hooked up one of Jacks cables, and the guitar worked fine! It is a tough! I used the guitar on our version of Badfinger's No Matter What - I don't play out or know many songs but I knew parts of that so when Mike started playing it and everyone joined I could limp along. I Mike glanced over and seemed surprised I was trying to play the counter part to the lead he was playing that went along with his. I think it was largely correct, or close. But they have an off beat syncopated chord thing going on too which I wasn't doing. I was doing it by ear and by memory, and honestly both fail me at times. Also, one part has a slight bit of a sitar-ish quality, we obviously didn't have that. Also, I believe I was playing my modded 5w fender champion 600 reissue, and it was keeping up (although I was using ALL 5 watts!). I wish I had more time, I could have figured out the rest of the complimentary part and the bridge. And it would have helped to have George Harrison around to show us the slide parts. I don't know if he actually played those parts, or just it was his production influence showing through.

But I LOVE badfinger. I like the way those guys had complimentary guitar parts. Very much like the Beatles. I suppose it helped to be recorded in the same studios and produced by the Beatles too, even using some of the same instruments and amps in the studios from what I read.

Here are two pics I had on photobucket. It looks just like the production models. I do have different tuners and WCR godwood and fillmore humbuckers in it now.

Nice!! That's a classy neck join, eh!

Badfinger are just great; Pete Ham was a special songwriter and is missed to this day by me!! I think Joey Molland was touring a version of Badfinger up till quite recently which may or may not have included Mike Gibbens.
I believe George did play the slide part on No Matter What; he had a huge hand in that first album; I loved playing that piece and still do, but my fave Badfinger song to play is Baby Blue.....
