I finally got around to posting a quick MPC Demo. It's not super in depth, but it serves as a good introduction for lots of players who've never seen them before. Tell me what you think, Cheers!

Oh, mate!! For those of us in the colonies who've never even seen an MPC, I thank 'ee!!

You know, they all seem like usable tones, too, though all of my gigging was done with tap dancing so the idea of onboard FX is a little odd! I never used the onboard boost circuit of my Vantage VA900 because I found finding that itty bitty switch on a darkened stage with fingers slippery with sweat and/or blood - I played some real dives!! - a bit hit or miss, so relied heavily on pedalboards.

Thanks for taking the time to record that; I really enjoyed it... y'all talk funny! :D

Thanks for the demo. The X810 I picked up recently only came with a Phaser, which I love, but I need to pick up a few more. Since I have overdrive and distortion on the floor already, I'm keeping my eye out for the treble/bass booster next. Of coarse I'm still trying to find my way around the 5 way switch anyway.

Great demo Mike, and your right about the color switch on the phaser. As cool as it sounds theres nothing really usable on the color and that few times you would, flippin it over to pop it off and on is not worth it. But the phase is great. I found I got the best usable wash on around 7 and the best boost on the treb/bass at 7. My MPC 310 didnt have the super mags in it so it needs a little help sometimes.
Have you tried the phase on The Rover or add a wah pedal with it and try No Quarter. Its a doable thing.

Mji30, have you looked at the MPC user manual here on the site?

http://www.rivercityamps.com/electrapag ... 215-043528

If its blurry, Click on the photo again and it will magnify so you can read it.

It has suggestions on where to use the 5 way positions with the modules, but hey, Just play with it till you hit on the sounds you like is the best way ( and the most Fun).

Thanks. I'll check that out. And yes, the first thing that I played through the phaser was the rover. I've been looking for that tone for 30 years! Starship Trooper sounds great through it also. At least the part of it I've been able to learn how to play.

Thanks Mike. You've done a real service for those unfamiliar with the MPC modules.

Great playing, great explanation, and good context.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys. I'm surprised there aren't more MPC demos out there. It isn't very convenient to swap modules on the fly, and it's a bit of a luxury to have multiple MPC guitars, so I was in a unique position to throw a quick demo together. Cheers, Mike.
