Had a Teisco Del Ray back in the late 60's -

I just remember that "Made in Japan" at that time meant that it was not too desirable - and definitely was not player ..........

although now they are somewhat collectable????

People will collect anything. That said, some of those cheesy ones play nicely. I played the guild model once and as long as it was on a strap it worked quite well.

I agree with the artical. I know this post is old but these are the kind of guitars we saw growing up before we new what a Les Paul or a Strat was. I love the body styles and the multi pick up models. 4 pick ups still looks as cool as Frampton's 3 humbuckers. ( and I really dig Frampton)

These are pretty cool. If I remember correctly James Iha from the smashing pumpkins played a teisco just like that. I have a friend that has a copy of the guild called daniels that neither of us could find any information on. As for the yamaha sg it's definitely a funky guitar, and I want one.

The guitar that was originally posted about is neat! Somehow we strayed from the subject (shall I say it evolved?).

But 4 pickup guitars are cool! I have a DiPinto Galaxy 4 - 4 pickups single coils, and an on/off switch for each pickup, and the tremolo is kinda crossed with a jazzmaster. Thing is fantastic! But this cheese is not cheap! See Los Straightjackets on you tube, they play them but theirs are silver sparkle where as mine is a vintage sunburst. Now they are starting a custom shop made in USA models! These are Korean made but really high quality cheese.
