Hey Men! Been TOO quiet around here....

Anyhow, help a brother out. :) What value is this pot? On my 1977-78 Omega X210. It sounds dark, too dark.

Here's what it says...

504042
272B

No other marking on it, that I can see. So... anyone know? I'd like to *think* that installing 500k pots would fix my problem, unless these ARE 500k pots and I just don't know it?!

I might lean towards your value being 50k due to the first 2 numbers on that pot. There was quite a run that Electra had with 50k pots that were used instead of the 500k pots that should have been speced for their guitars. This is what drove the need for the after sale "Supercharger " kits that were sold.

measure it if you can. get a digital multi meter and set for resistance and the proper range (if yours has ranges) and touch the outer two posts with the red and black leads on the meter. Should read between 400-600K. if reads 40-60K you know what the problem is! :D
