check out this - new electra modules options from JHS pedals. I don't know ANY details. But I know I have modded some, and I know some people that have built one or two and have toyed with the idea of creating modules. But it looks like JHS has done this. I am NOT affiliated in any way but I'd be more than willing to try and review some. I'd like to have more options. Here is a link.

I originally saw this on facebook and also on TGP. It should have a mention here for the few of us that still use the forum.

I'll have to take a look at these -

Thanks for posting.

Update - response from JHS Pedals just now:

"They are not available anywhere. We are playing around with them but are not sure whether or not we'll actually make them in the future. Sorry!"

I need my OD's modded by Thorny too....

Since this came out, there was another post that someone said that they had been working with the New Electra guys on some new prototype MPC cartridges. More to come on that front as they were not yet ready to announce these to the public. Maybe some good news for us that don't have all of the old ones.

I am disappointed they have not made any, makes me wonder if it all is a joke. Or maybe just some mock ups.

I know the Electra guys have at least one module because I saw a picture of it. I have not heard it. But I am not announcing anything, they are on here and can announce it when they are ready. I believe that to be a prototype phase. But honestly guys, there are few of us out here looking and we still can find them relatively cheaply (although a lot more than previously). It takes quantity to make this a worthwhile endeavor or a high price - neither of which will likely ever happen. I've toyed with the idea many times because a nicer overdrive, a nicer distortion, a nicer fuzz would be relatively easy to build. Parts in quantity would be cheap. Manufacturing could be cheap, but it takes the effort to design and start it all up that isn't. The MPC idea is good but it is limiting too. But there will not likely be any quantity.

I am sorry if I have inadvertently spread around rumors! I saw it and was excited by the possibility. There mere many thousands of these MPCs made, and possibly "half?" may still be in use and functional? I don't know - only conjecture. But MPCs are what originally brought me to the page many years ago.

Have a great thanksgiving holiday guys. Or I should say hope you had a great one! Also, nice to have a posts on here that are not mine. Sometimes I feel I am the only one on the page lately. Yes, I like the other websites and facebook and such, but it does not take the place of this page.
