um, i have an electra x650, and i was wondering, does electra make westone, or vica verca? cos on the head it says "electra" with a symbol and then "westone" or are they like, diff names for the same company? it was my grandfather's bass and i wasn't interested in bass until after he died, so i couldn't ask him anything about it. if anyone has any info on it, lemme know, i'm still kinda learning and am trying to find out more about my bass. thanks!

Electra guitars were made in Japan and imported and sold by (SLM) Saint Louis Music from 1971 - 1984. In early 84 they joined up with Westone another Matsumoku made guitar also distributed by SLM. They were only called Electra/Westone in the year 1984 as they become just Westone in late 84. If your bass says Electra/Westone it is most likely an early 1984
model.
