This is exactly why I never visit animal shelters, I'd take them all home:

But... it's not so bad. Well, ok, it's bad. The soldering iron burns in the finish are pretty severe, and the routing job- look ma, three humbuckers! New bridge needed for sure. But the pickups are there, and that counts for a lot. My thought is to strip it and have the world's only woodgrain Futura...

Ouch!
ImageI especially like how they painted out 'We' on the headstock.

Wow, what a mess. Good luck with that one! :D

I used to be the same way, but I had to stop buying projects, because I have too many already.

I was thinking natural wood too. An f-hole is a wacky, wacky idea! even wackier would be to saw off the top surface and rout the internals to make long crescent-shaped resonanse chambers... thinking Brian May... glue it back on to give a true sound chamber underneath, like a slimline tele.

have you natural fuinished some pointy guitars? got pics? (i love pointy guitars)

i don't actually have any pictures. i am somewhat lame that way...

my little avatar picture or whatever is the first electric solid body bouzouki i made though!

just a tester really - it has a maple neck thru a maple body. it was my second fret job, and i have to say it actually turned out pretty good.

i made it because my acoustic bouzoukis and tzouras sound great clean, but when i step on my shout box, they increase 1000x in volume...

problem solved: solid body electric version with an obl stacked humbucker with the blade style going on. that helped make sure there were no pole piece spacing issues.

getting back to the point...

i am actually about to strip my fender katana down to wood.

i am also taking that washburn a-20 down, and i will probably stain it with beet juice. ever heard of that?

i am a drum maker foremost, and i have stained drums (as well as skins) with things like beet juice, coffee, and all sorts of stuff. as long as it isn't something that is going to putrify before you can get it nicely sealed...

and my mom said i shouldn't play with my food.

check out pointyguitars.com :shudder:

that's funny. at one point i had a dog, 3 cats, 2 ferrets, and a mouse. imagine the barnyard politics that went on!

oh - and an iguana!!! they all got weird about the iguana! it had to stay in its cage most of the time....

Well, it's gotten worse here now. Since I've abstained from buying any more guitars the critter population has grown. We're now up to 4 dogs, 5 cats, 2 ferrets, and a fat white rabbit. I don't need a vacuum cleaner, I need a leaf blower! Dust bunnies spawn by the minute! :eek2:

wow that sounds familiar! i really miss my ferrets. they had so much personality. when i was single, i mostly just let them run around. they were litter trained with an accuracy of maybe 75%...

then i became two, and had to make them a little "area", which worked out nicely. i would come home and wke them up, they would do their thing, then i could let them run around for the rest of the evening.

i would love to get a couple more of the rascals, but the dogs i have now are squirrel chasers BIG TIME, so i don't think it would work out.

by the way, have your ferrets tried for your rabbitt?

i tried to laugh ut my mouth , like everything else in sight, is somehow full of dog hair!

i was tallying up our dog expenses (not including the rat poison incident a few months ago - which they got through just fine), and i came to a conclusion:

they both need jobs. i have sat them down to explain it to them, but i am not sure they get it.
