Well, I just had another Electra fall into my lap it seems. A guy at work has what I belive to be a rock 2242. It's black with what was once gold hardware(the gold has all worn or been scrapped off. All the nice enlay including the custom like inlay on the peg head. Has the Gibson peg head. All in all the guitar is in pretty good shape, normal wear and tear but appears to have been taken well care of. The guitar comes with a case(orginal? who knows) and an old sears and roebuck amp which is in %100 working condition and just needs a cleaning.

Asking price $75.

What about the 2242? Any insight from you guys?

Thanks.

I agree. You're finding these guitars for about 1/2 of what they usually go for on eBay. Really, almost any playable guitar is worth $75, and the Electra Rock series are pretty handsome examples.

Let us know what you think once you get it set up!

The 2242's a nice axe, I've got one. That price is practically a 'giving it away' price.

The Sears amp is cool too, is it a Silvertone?

I'm not sure about the sears amp. The only thing I saw on is was what I think to be the model number. A letter I don't remember and 440. If I snag it I'll do some more investigating. Pretty neat little amp though. Solid state, I think an 8" speaker with distortion dial, volume, base, mid and treble. Looks to be roughly the same age as the guitar.

The guitar is in pretty good shape. No major flaws other than the gold plating being apparently removed after it started wearing. It's scuffed up at the headstock a little and is a little scratched up elsewhere, but mainly it's just filthy like the amp. It needs some minor bridge and neck adjustment, but that's it.

The guy actually just got it from someone else. The strings on it are extremely old and he wants to restring it before he decides to sell it. I'm pretty confident he's going to sell, but it may be next week before I find out. I may have to pay like $80 or $85 for it to cover the strings he just put on, but I guess I can live with that. :)
