I have this Westone from 'Matt and it looks a lot like a Pantera model but doesn't say Pantera. It's walnut I think. It's missing the locking nut and whammy. It has the angled pointy headstock. Anyone have info on this one? Thanks! Carl

Hello CBH3
The closest I can find is the 1986 x275 model.
Everythink looks the same except for the bridge and your extra knob.

It has the killer UBC type pickups which are one of the best ideas since electricty.

Pantera x275 from 86 cataog slicks

Do you have pics of the head stock?

Thanks. They must have made some changes in '87 or something. Check out the body contours:

Westone XA1530

So thats what it is.

I asked for pics of the head stock because the truss rod cover usually has the model on it.
Darn. Someone forgot to replace it after adjusting.

I do the same thing as I leave the cover off when I'm working on a guitar so I can adjust
the rod as the neck settles in. It can take up to a week till its dialed in to satisfaction.

Tip: Use one of those envelopes that strings come in to store the cover and the screws
then label it with a marker. Put it in the case or gig bag compartment.

One day when you are playing the guitar, and you freak out when you realize that
the cover is missing, you'll smile when you see it right there where you left it.

BTW: I just learned that the model designation on these puppies were on the
tremolo spring compartment covers. Who would have thought?
This guitar also know as the Westone 65th Anniversary model and Genesis.

No need to move this thread to the for sale area since we were only trying to ID it.
Now that you have it in the ebay area future posts on it will go there.

Good luck.

Thanks JB. I always keep the parts in a dish or box and put them back. The guitar is shown as I found it except for the pup change. I don't know what's up with that neck single coil that was the stock pup. It makes sound, but very low volume. The dual rail fit perfectly and sounds good.

Thanks,
Carl

p.s. did you see the other oddities I have on ebay? 18 string acoustic, and a bizzarre Tokai type strat
